App Update! New HomePage + Tablet Fixes

Hello TTW friends! You may have noticed that your TTW home page has a new layout. If you didn’t see a change, you probably haven’t gotten the 2.0.2 update yet. To get the update, open the app store on your device, and search for Through the Word. (Note: Apple takes an extra day to make updates available). We’re working hard to make the app more intuitive to use and improve your experience. The changes aren’t huge, but we think it will help you find your way around the app. We also fixed some issues on iPads and tablets. Here’s a quick summary of what’s new:

Home Page Menu: At the bottom of the screen, there are three new buttons:

- TTW Tips opens a webpage with helps, FAQ, and contact info for all your questions and support needs.

- Bible opens up the Bible wherever you left off, but does not open a reading plan.

- Find Guides opens the Guide Selection menu where you can find and subscribe to any of TTW’s reading plans. This button was moved from the upper left.

Home Page “News”: Just above the new menu, we added a TTW newsfeed. We’ll use this to let you know about new audio guides, app updates, and important news.

Slide-Out Menu Hamburger: At the top right, we’ve replaced the three dots “...” with the three lines. Users said this one was more familiar - so we listened. The slide-out menu appears on all screens and takes you directly to helpful tools.

Tablet & iPad Fixes: Some elements didn’t look quite right on tablets, so we made some fixes. If you have a tablet, get the update!

Scrolling Issues: Scrolling on some pages was acting funny, so we fixed that too.

No More Missing Bible Books: All the books of the Bible are back now.

Chapters are Back in Order: Somehow chapters got mixed up in some plans - sorry about that. They’re back in order now. Just one plan is still giving us trouble - Psalms V. That should be back up soon.

Can’t Register? Some users have told us they can’t register an account. If that’s you, email us at info@throughtheword.org or message us at facebook.com/throughtheword. We’ll register an account for you and give you a temporary password. All we need is your email address.

What to do if something doesn’t work right (or look right). First - sorry for the frustration, and thanks for your patience. If you have a problem on the TTW app, first check the app store for updates to the app - all the fixes will get to you via updates. After that, you can tell us about the issue at facebook.com/throughtheword or by email at info@throughtheword.org. It helps a lot if you tell us what kind of device you’re using, and if possible take a screenshot to show us just what the issue looks like on your screen. Thanks so much for helping us improve TTW. And thanks for praying for our team as we keep improving!

Check our Other Blogposts for Tips & Helps. You can find a welcome and overview of the new app here, plus get help with writing a good Bible journal, or check out this blog on how to pick the right TTW guide for you. Check them out!  As we move forward, we'll be adding video tutorials - so keep an eye here in the blog.

On the Journey,

Pastor Kris

  2. Hello from the Philippines! I'm a happy 1st-timer at TTW. I spent a week with you this past Holy Week in FJTD&Back Again. LOVED IT. So I downloaded your app.
Been walking in the grace of God 34 years; my husband and I are music missionaries. Just want to say THANK YOU for helping/challenging us and the bretheren to THINK in the Word about what we believe in & why we believe.
The Lord bless you all more!!

  4. My husband and I love listening to you guys. We loved the old layoutapp.
Neither have been able to register.
We would like to hear more from the guy who did Lev. We would like to hear less of Sandy A, as his commandments can be very worldly.
