Hey TTW family! Hope you're all doing well. We're praying for all of you - and thanks for praying for us through this! Here's your news and updates for this week at TTW...
Journey #'s are Changing by One!
Starting Tuesday, all Journey numbers just went up by one number. That's because we added a new Journey #1! Well, technically we split the old Journey #2, and moved half of it to Journey #1. So now there will be a total of 19 Journeys instead of 18. Now the new 19 Journeys start like this:
Journey #1 | Start (Mark & Colossians. Formerly part of Foundations).
Journey #2 | The Big Picture (Overview the Bible. Formerly Journey #1)
Journey #3 | Foundations (Genesis, Daniel, Romans)
- Note that Daniel was added and Mark & Colossians moved to J#1.
Journey #4 | Law & Grace (unchanged)...
The rest are the same as before, just bumped up by one number.
If you were subscribed to Foundations... your progress should be saved, but your plan has now been split into two parts (the new Journey #1 | Start, and Journey #3 | Foundations).
Note: If you don't see those plans on your Home page, go to the Browse page and subscribe again. Your progress will still be there, but the app may have unsubscribed you by accident when the update was made.
If you were subscribed to any other Journey... you don't need to do anything. The journey number will automatically go up by one.
Here's why we made the update: After much prayer and careful consideration, we decided that brand new listeners should start their Bible journey with the story of Jesus - before they get an overview of the whole Bible. The change will also bring the app Journeys onto the same plan that we are now launching on YouVersion and our new Bible Audio Guide Podcast, so that all platforms have the same plans. We do apologize for any confusion, and appreciate your understanding as we take this important step moving forward. Starting next week, you will notice a couple small changes to your journey numbers. That's because we're adding a new one! Well, technically we're splitting one. So now there will be a new Journey #1, and a total of 19 Journeys instead of 18.
Here's why: After much prayer and careful consideration, we decided that brand new listeners should start their Bible journey with the story of Jesus - before they get an overview of the whole Bible. To make that happen, we're taking the guides for Mark and Colossians (which were part of Journey #2), and we're using those to create a new Journey #1. After that, all the current journeys will simply be bumped by one: #1 will become #2, #2 will become #3, etc. The good news is - all of that change will happen automatically. Holy Week Live Daily
Hello TTW family - I hope this post finds you well. It's a tough week for humanity here on this little planet of ours. My prayers and compassion go out to all of you. And with numbers still going up, this coming week isn't promising much relief. It also happens to be Holy Week, as Christians the world over remember the most important week in all of history. There is some powerful irony in the timing here. As the world scrambles to protect itself from the shadow of death, and people of all faiths find themselves forbidden to gather or congregate, we also remember the week when the disciples were scattered, when Jesus found himself forsaken, and the Son of God faced his own death.
It is a powerful story, and every day the drama builds. Beginning with Palm Sunday, the four gospels dedicate 30 chapters to the events between just two Sundays, and the Old Testament delivers dozens of prophecies all pointing to these eight historic days.
So this year, we decided to follow Jesus' to the cross - together. From triumphal entry to last supper - from trial and crucifixion to glorious resurrection, we'll walk through each day together. I've invited some of the best Bible teachers I know (who also happen to be my good friends!) to join me as we share the story and dig in to discuss the powerful events of each day in Jesus' footsteps.
