New King James Version - Coming Soon!

Hello TTW!

One of the most requested Bible translations, the New King James, will soon be coming to TTW!

Our programming team is currently working on the coding necessary to add the text of the NKJV to the app. The audio is ready to go already, so as soon as it is ready we will be launching!

The NKJV is a beautiful translation based on the King James Version, with updates to word order and vocabulary necessary to communicate more easily with a modern audience. Gone are the "thees" and "thous," but the poetic beauty remains.

The NKJV joins the NIV, ESV, CSB, KJV, and NLT on the app. The NASB and ERV will soon be added as well!

We hope you enjoy the app, and be on the lookout for the update with the new translation!

Through the Word Has a New Address!

Death and Back Again - Holy Week on TTW!

Hello Through the Word family!

Friends, we are entering into Holy Week - starting this Sunday with Palm Sunday, and moving through the week to Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. For some of you, those days are full of tradition and church memories. For others, those may have just been boring church words in the past. 

Looking back nearly 2,000 years, the original Holy Week was a big one. The stories of this one week occupy more than 30 chapters of Scripture--that’s more than a third of the gospels’ record--covering one week. Sunday to Sunday. This is big. Biblically big. 

 

So as we enter into Holy Week together, we’re doing something here as the Through the Word family that is both different--and traditional. Different, because we’re different. Traditional, because every year at Through the Word we all begin with Palm Sunday, and we follow Jesus in the Bible story together, day by day, to death and back again. The daily audio is just like the audio guides you’re used to on the app, but this time, each day follows Jesus’ day in Holy Week.

 

You can join us for that in two ways. First on the app--just go to the Browse page and find the Holy Week plan under New and Updated. Or you can join us on social media, where we’ll be posting the daily audio for you to listen to and share. 

 

I hope you can join us. You know, it’s been so heartwarming to hear stories from so many families and friends who are separated by the pandemic, who are following the same plans together on Through the Word from a distance. If you’ve been thinking about doing something like that, this is a perfect time. Invite them to join you for one week and take that journey together. And you can now send your friends a text with a direct link to the audio--just swipe left on the chapter you want to share.

King James Version Available!

 Hello TTW listeners!

Well, the responses to our call for beta-testers for TTW Together were overwhelming! We received over 10x the number of responses we needed. I will be reaching out to everyone in the next few days, and know that if you are not part of the initial group of testers, We will keep your information for future tests!

King James Arrives!

We have some exciting news - We now have the King James Version on the app! We are really excited about having the KJV on the app - it is our most requested translation. The KJV is the most influential piece of literature in the English language and its poetic form is full of beauty!

In addition, the NKJV is coming soon - we are working on the coding to add it in!

To access the KJV, please make sure your app is updated in the App Store or Google Play. 

Other updates in version 3.7.7 include:

• Bible translation saving bug fix
• Other bug fixes and improvements.

Small Group Beta-Testers Needed!

Hello Through the Word listeners (including those who are rooting for the Bengals-it's okay, God still loves you),

Want to grow in your faith and help others grow as well?

Through the Word is looking for volunteers to help test a new discipleship tool we are developing–and we would love for you to be a part of the testing!

Through the Word Together is our new Discipleship course designed for any small-sized group. We are looking for beta testers to lead a small group of friends, coworkers, or family members through a six-week course–no experience necessary! Everything you need to lead the group is provided–reading schedules, weekly videos, daily audio guides, questions, and tips for leading a group! It’s Plug-and-Play discipleship–just open it up and you are good to go!

This program is in the early stages of development, and we are looking for feedback on what works–and what doesn’t. By participating, you will be helping Through the Word develop a discipleship tool that would be available to churches, youth groups, and individual groups.

The TTW Together beta-test will take participants through “Journey 1 | Start,” 6 days a week. Once a week your group will gather and watch a short video to help you journey Through the Word together.

Requirements

• Small group - could be you and a single friend, an existing discipleship/small group, your family members, or a youth small group! All you need is two or more!
• Internet-connected device for streaming the weekly Time Together videos (10-15 minutes) and audio guides.
• Through the Word app for all participants
• A willingness to fill out weekly feedback forms for the leader and participants (approx 10 min. each week)

If you are interested in being one of our initial beta-testers, please fill out the form below. We will be reviewing applications in stages so you might not be accepted immediately. Offline Mode Now Available!

Hello Through the Word Family! Okay, quick question – how many of you have kept your New Year’s Resolutions so far? 

Offline Mode Now Available

We have a big app update, so be sure to check the App Store or Google Play to make sure you are up to date!

Offline mode is now available! That’s right; you can now download plans to listen to offline! Now you can download your audio guides at home and take them with you – even when you have no cellular connection! Listen to Romans on a train, or Hosea in the rain! Okay, enough Dr. Seuss. But just think – you can now listen to Through the Word wherever you go!

To download a plan, you need to be subscribed to the plan. Then click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the plan, and select “download.” 

Additional features in version 3.7.6:

• Problems? Just reload it! Pull down to reload data.
• App not synced correctly? Clear the app cache from settings menu

Coffee Mug Reorders

If you haven’t received your coffee mug from December, our next shipment will arrive next week! We will be working as fast as we can to get the mugs shipped out as soon as possible! Thank you for your support of Through the Word, and for your patience!

We have received a few reports of broken handles and mugs that didn’t quite survive shipping. If that happened to you, we’re so sorry! And we want to set it right. We have some extras set aside just for this. Please fill out this form and we’ll get a replacement out to you asap!

Prayer Request for TTW Family

 Hello TTW Family, we have a major prayer request from a member of our TTW family.

Zach Adams, son of our TTW teacher Sandy Adams, is currently in the ICU battling with COVID. Sandy Adams shared with his church an update on Facebook, which we have linked to here. Please join us in prayer for Zach, his entire family, and everyone in our extended family dealing with COVID.
